Poker Variants

Over the years, with the surge in popularity, different variations of poker have been introduced. More people have become anxious to try their hand and luck at one of the many variations of this game. There are poker games played with 5 cards, 7 cards, with wild cards, no wild cards and even wild cards used only in some specific games.
Five card stud is a poker variant played with 5 cards. It is usually dealt either 2 down, 3 up or 1 down, 4 up. Betting rounds are held when each new card is put down. Use of wild cards is allowed and the game follows the standard rank of hands.
Seven card stud allows 3 to 5 players. Initial deal is 2 cards down and 1 card up for each player. First betting round starts with the highest hand showing. Then the betting round continues until there are 4 cards faces up. Final card is dealt down and final betting held. Variations allowed are wild cards and five of a kind.
Low ball or low poker is played wherein players strive for the lowest ranking hand. 3 to 7 players can play this game. Initial deal is 5 cards to each player. The lowest hand wins the game.
Indian poker has 2 to 10 players. Initial deal is 1 card to each player. Each player holds his card up so everyone can see except him. Betting begins. Once betting is done, each player looks at his card and the one with the highest card wins the pot.
